What's a good kind of parasol?

Well, I'm very very very fair-skinned, and I saw some Asian tourists carrying parasols around. And that got me thinking, since I burn so easily, and sunscreen isn't foolproof, I would get one. If it prevents me from burning, and having other complications later in life, why not? I think they're cool, and a lot better than hats. Anyway, as I am new at buying parasols, does anyone have any recommendations? Nylon fabric- yes or no, ect.. What's worse or better that kind of thing. Thanks!
